Electric Self-cleaning Filter
Electric self-cleaning filter (brush type is widely adopted) is a fully automatic on-line continuous filtration equipment. The cleaning mechanism is driven by a motor, and matched with an electric control system to realize automatic cleaning and blowdown under three modes: differential pressure control, timing control and manual control. The whole process operates without flow interruption, no manual intervention and no disassembly required. It is applied to remove mechanical impurities including sediment, rust, welding slag and suspended solids in water, so as to protect downstream pumps, valves, heat exchangers and precision equipment.

Structural Composition
Cylinder: Carbon steel / stainless steel (304/316L), vertical or horizontal type.
Filter screen: Wedge wire screen / woven mesh / perforated plate, filtration range 20–4000μm, corrosion-resistant and high mechanical strength.
Cleaning mechanism: Stainless steel brush for brush-type models, driven by geared motor (0.37–2.2kW).
Blowdown system: Electric blowdown valve (DC24V/AC220V), blowdown duration adjustable from 30 to 180 seconds.
Control system: PLC / microcomputer controller, equipped with differential pressure switch (0–1.0MPa), timer, overload protection, manual/automatic mode switchover.
Working Principle
Filtration process:Water flows in through the inlet and filters outward from the inner side of the screen. Contaminants are trapped on the inner wall of the filter screen, and clean water flows out via the outlet.
Cleaning trigger condition:When the differential pressure between inlet and outlet reaches ≥0.3–0.5MPa (adjustable), or the preset timing cycle expires (adjustable 1–24 hours), the controller activates the cleaning program.
Cleaning & blowdown process:The motor drives the brush to rotate and scrape off contaminants attached to the screen. Meanwhile, the blowdown valve opens to discharge waste together with water. The system maintains continuous flow during cleaning, and the blowdown water consumption is ≤1% of total flow rate.
Reset state:Once the cleaning cycle ends or the differential pressure returns to normal, the motor stops and the blowdown valve closes, and the equipment resumes normal filtration mode.
