Spherical filter
Spherical Automatic Backwash Filter is designed to separate large particulate contaminants and other solid particles without interrupting liquid flow. This series covers a flow rate range of 64 to 5,000 cubic meters per hour, suitable for filtration requirements with particle sizes from 1 mm to 9 mm.

Core Structure
This filter consists of a two-piece spherical housing (1+2) split at the middle and connected by matching flanges. A filter cartridge section (4) is fitted between the two flanges, eliminating gaps between the particle-laden inlet side and clean downstream side. The filter section is generally fabricated from perforated steel plate.
A backwash rotor (3) is installed on the filter’s inlet side. Supported by two heavy-duty bearings, the rotor is driven by a geared motor (5) with a connection diameter of DN 80. Within the inlet zone, the backwash rotor is designed as a pipe partially covering the filter element, fitted with elastic packing at the pipe inlet. This special structure enables efficient pressure relief (PR) during backwashing.
A differential pressure measuring system (6) monitors the adjustable backwash trigger point and activates the backwash cycle, which can also be initiated by a timer.
A debris drain valve dedicated solely to backwashing is mounted at the outlet port (7) connected to the backwash rotor. The valve features no flow constriction, automatic operation and a built-in actuator.
Working Principle
Filtration Cycle:Liquid enters through the inlet; contaminants are intercepted by the filter screen, and clean liquid discharges from the outlet.
Backwash CycleWhen: When differential pressure hits the preset threshold or the timer is triggered, the system initiates backwashing: the drive unit rotates the filter screen, the drain valve opens, reverse flow scours the screen, and trapped dirt is discharged through the drain outlet.
Core Advantages
Continuous filtration operation allows long-term unattended running without manual operator intervention.
Low installation cost with full mounting flexibility: like inline models, it can replace pipe elbows in 90° elbow configurations or be mounted at any other angle on existing pipelines.
Space-saving spherical layout.
Short backwash duration minimizes flush water loss; undiverted flow through the filter element delivers low pressure drop, while the spherical design provides a larger effective filtration area.
