Breathing Valve

Breather Valve is a safety and energy-saving accessory installed on the top of atmospheric / low-pressure storage tanks. It consists of a pressure relief valve (outbreathing) and a vacuum relief valve (inbreathing). It maintains balanced air pressure inside and outside the tank to avoid tank bulging caused by overpressure and tank collapse caused by negative pressure, while lowering volatile loss of stored medium.

Working Principle

Positive pressure exhaust: When the internal tank pressure exceeds the set positive pressure, the pressure valve disc opens, oil and gas inside the tank are vented out, and the pressure drops back to normal.

Negative pressure intake: When the internal tank pressure falls below the set negative pressure, the vacuum valve disc opens, external air flows into the tank, and the pressure rises back to normal.

Sealed standby state: Under normal pressure, the valve discs are sealed by self-weight or spring force to isolate the tank from the atmosphere and reduce volatile loss.
