Coalescing Separator

The coalescing separator is an inline pipeline precision separation equipment specially designed for chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, and coal chemical industries. It adopts the principles of coalescence demulsification, gravity sedimentation and fractional separation, mainly realizing accurate oil-water two-phase separation, impurity filtration and liquid phase purification.

Working Principle

Precision Filtration:The fluid first passes through a pre-filter cartridge to intercept solid contaminants, rust scale, catalyst particles and mechanical impurities, so as to protect the internal coalescing components.

Coalescence Demulsification (Core Function):Tiny emulsified oil droplets (1–10 μm) flow through oleophilic-hydrophobic coalescing filter elements. The oil droplets are continuously adsorbed, gathered and fused, growing from micro-droplets into large oil droplets (≥100 μm).

Gravity Sedimentation Separation:Driven by density difference, large oil droplets rapidly float upward to the upper oil collecting zone, while the water phase sinks downwards.

Fractional Discharge of Two Phases:Light phase (Oil): Collected in the top oil chamber, discharged and recovered via automatic or manual oil drain. Heavy phase (Water): Continuously drained from the lower water outlet.

Core Separation Section:Two-stage combined assembly of coalescing filter cartridges and separating filter cartridges.

Auxiliary Internal Components:Oil collecting chamber, blowdown chamber, flow stabilizing baffle plates.

Process Nozzles:Flanged inlet & outlet ports, oil drain port, blowdown port, vent port.
